Ceremony & Ritual
These earth-based practices are rooted in folk medicine with the intention to create a safe and sacred space for healing, honoring life, and marking significant rites of passage in sacred communication; such as birth, death, loss, and new beginnings. Tea, cacao, and sacred plant medicine ceremonies are often included.
It is believed that energy fields inside and outside the body may be transformed through prayer, which in turn impacts the person's health. In our modern society, many of us have been dissociated from the earth, her elements, and ourselves.

Mother’s Blessing
A Mother's Blessing is a pre-birth celebration, a ceremony that honors a pregnant woman and her journey into birth. It's a celebration that can help prepare the mother emotionally and spiritually for the rite of passage she is about to embark upon.
Respectfully inspired by a sacred Navajo ceremony, called a Blessingway, a Mother's Blessing is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the mother, creating a space where she can be honored, where she can receive care, love & support from the feminine in her life- we invoke positive blessing and avert misfortune. In indigenous traditions, (Dine Navajo to be accurate) a ceremony called a Blessingway created space to come together as a support circle for the expecting mother, and bless the way ahead for her. It is a web woven of the most trusted and cherished women in her life. “At its core, the Blessingway ceremony embodies the Navajo concept of Hózhǫ́, which encompasses balance, beauty, harmony, and well-being.”
“Returning to ancient traditions of women gathering to support and uplift one another. Across generations and cultures, women have come together in circles to honor each other’s journeys. “
Since the Mother's Blessing is about supporting the mother-to-be on her journey, we are bringing her (not the baby) offerings and heartfelt gifts that she can keep close after the birth. This ceremony and gathering focuses on the mother, as we come together to hold space for her, to share our love, strength, support, and encouragement as she embarks on this special journey and rite of passage. Honoring our rites of passages allows us to anchor these important moments into our experiences.
This is a free community offering, though gifts & donations are accepted but not expected. This offering is given from a place of abundance for mothers, as we sink into the creation of Mother Culture, where mothers are honored, seen, and given a place to be as authentically themselves, in all stages.
Though I carry indigenous roots with the Apache peoples, the Blessingway is not of my culture. The ceremony that I a offer is inspired by the blessingway ceremony, with the intention to honor the teachers and keepers of these ancients traditions, I seek the blessing of the Navajo People while sharing the essence and spirit of this ceremony with my community.
“The exchange of cells between mother and baby contribute to the biological red thread woven through a woman’s female ancestors and into her daughter.”
