Yoga Classes
Honoring the sacred art of yoga and the traditional teachers and keepers of this practice, I humbly offer a variety of yoga styles for balancing the body system.
My offerings include: Yin Yoga, Trauma Informed Yoga, and Perinatal Yoga. Each class is a mixture of yoga, somatic practices, and rituals weaved together to create a healing and sacred experience.

Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is known as the quiet practice—attending to the forgotten inner realms. The focus of this class is to promote personal growth, clear energy blocks, and enhance circulation and flexibility.
Yin yoga focuses on the connective tissues as well as the meridians that end in the lower body. Poses are mostly performed from a seated or reclined position and are held for an extended period of time. Yin Yoga fosters a state of relaxation in the body that facilitates the development of flexibility, lubrication, and rehabilitation of the connective tissue that forms the joints.
“Equal parts science and spirit, Yin Yoga and meditation can be experienced as a practice of optimal well-being for the whole self. Combining the practices of Yin Yoga and mindfulness meditation creates powerful possibilities for transformation and holistic healing on all layers of being—body, mind, and heart. This practice refreshes the mind to bring clarity and deeper understanding, and creates spaciousness in the heart to let us live and love with greater ease and more joy.”

Trauma-Informed Yoga
Trauma is any experience that overwhelms your thoughts, emotions, or body, which can rewire your brain and body. It can change the way your brain interprets information. It can affect your memory, mood, emotions, and feelings of safety and security.
By following specific guidelines we can create a safe and inclusive space to explore the mind-body connection, tapping into our unique inner landscape and rhythm. For many trauma survivors, being conscious of the body and being present in the body is quite a challenge.
For people whose bodies have been harmed in ways—having to focus on the body is very difficult and can be scary and triggering. "they don't feel safe; they don't feel stable." Trauma-informed yoga attempts to make your body a safe space again by allowing you the space to relearn to trust your body. The invitation is to discern what feels right to you instead of forcing yourself to fit the expectations of your environment.
It's a way of teaching that avoids common triggering cues, poses, language, props, and more. Its purpose is to allow you to feel safe and comfortable during your practice so you heal your mind and body connection through movement.
Each of these classes is designed to be slow, and nourishing, with gentle movements and support.
Prenatal Yoga
Providing a safe space for prenatal and postpartum bodies to sink into restoration and ease in the body.
Prenatal classes offer postures that restore, strengthen, and prepare the body & mind for birth; while creating moments of ease and relief.
Postpartum classes offer postures to strengthen, release, and heal the body after birth. Gentle stretching is recommended 40 days after the birthing process to allow the body time to heal naturally.
